As a nurse by profession, I always have the inclination to view an individual’s health and wellness in a holistic sense. This means, I am open to anything that could possibly cure a person’s disease, alleviate his condition, or maintain his wellness. This is exactly the reason why I had grew fascination over essential oils and even tried using some myself.

What I thought about essential oils being just a hoax and purely placebo turned out to be really something else. Consequently, I even narrated in my previous article, entitled “Do Essential Oils Really Work?”, my actual experiences in using some Young Living essential oil blends that I purchased from a Philippine-based online seller. Indeed, when paired with other regimen, essential oils can do you wonders.

However, due to the essential oil blends’ price points and vial sizes in the local Philippine market (particularly online), I was a bit turned off. Surely, most sellers use nothing but high grade Young Living or Plant Therapy essential oils in their blends. Nonetheless, I cannot imagine constantly spending around Php 100.00 or more for a small 3-ml vial.

Can’t I benefit from essential oils without breaking the bank?

How I Discovered Pili Beauty and Wellness’ Pili Essential Oil “Rise and Shine”

It turns out, I could get essential oils that are as effective as known foreign brands without breaking the bank. Luckily, I discovered the “Rise and Shine” Pili Beauty and Wellness’ Essential Oil just in time to save my dwindling finances!

I came across this essential oil when I was browsing for Coach totes on Carousell (Yes, bagggg agaiiiin…). Then, for some weird reasons, as if Carousell can sense my life’s exigencies, a listing on a set of pili-based essential oils popped up.  It turned out to be the same ones belonging to the Pili Beauty and Wellness product line.

I got so curious I knew I just had to run google Google search.

Eventually, I found Pili’s official website.

The Pili Beauty and Wellness Essential Oils Travel Kit has five (5) blends in it, namely the:

  1. Stress Away Blend;
  2. Breath Easy Blend;
  3. Bug Me Not Blend;
  4. Rise and Shine Blend; and
  5. Sweet dreams Blend

Since I am looking for something that will boost my energy, keep me feeling refreshed, and can help me focus and get through my readings/studies, I bought the Rise and Shine blend.

What Does the Rise and Shine Blend Do?

According to Pili Beauty and Wellness, the Rise and Shine Blend is composed of Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, Canarium ovatum (pili) oil, menthol, camphor, Gaultheria procumbens (wintergreen) leaf oil, Eucalyptus globulus (eucalytus) leaf oil, Citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel oil, Citrus aurantium amara (bitter orange) oil, Citrus medica limonum (lemon) oil, Lavandula angustifolia (lavender) essential oil, Canarium commune (elemi) essential oil.

It also claims to give the buyer the the following benefits:

“An energizing blend of citrus oils that refreshes, promotes positive mood, and restores focus. A fruity, zesty and fresh light fizzy scent to start your day right and bright. A perfect pick me up! Instruction : Apply on to wrists, arms, nape and neck. You can also dab a small amount on palms, rub palms together vigorously then cup the palms over nose and inhale the vapor. Caution : FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY. Do not apply on open wound. Avoid eye area. Always wash hands after use. If pregnant, please consult your doctor. For sensitive skin, apply on a small portion of your skin preferably on your arm area and leave overnight. If rashes appear, discontinue using.”

Meanwhile, each blend comes in either the 6-ml or the the 10-ml roller bottle. Since I was a little on a budget that time, I went for the 6-ml roller bottle.

How Was It Packaged When I Got It?

Pili Beauty and Wellness is one of the few brands I know that thinks about the environment in packaging their products. My Rise and Shine Essential Oil arrived to me in a cute and easy-to-open (“twist and remove”) paper cylindrical package. It’s innovative and well-made; I decided to keep it.

The paper cylinder that the Rise and Shine came with also has instructions on how to use it. But more importantly, it also has a best-before or expiration date. This is specially important in keeping its its efficacy in check.

So, is Pili Beauty and Wellness’ Pili Essential Oil “Rise and Shine” EFFECTIVE?

Indeed, this Rise and Shine Essential Oil stays true to its claim.

Whenever I’d apply it on the palms of my hands and sniff its aroma, I always feel refreshed and revitalized. This is especially so whenever I’m sitting for long hours on my study desk or in our school library.

I don’t know, but there’s something “miraculous” about the orangey-coconut smell it gives off, which is enough to invigorate me.

This baby carried me through my Taxation Law Review, among others.

In addition, this blend is also helpful in relieving other bodily conditions.

Because of its eucalyptus ingredient, applying it on the temple of my forehead has always been soothing and relaxing.

It relieves my nausea and migraine attacks every time.

I even use it to relax my tensed muscles after hours of reading and writing.

Will it cost me a lot in the long run?

These days, most essential oils or essential oil blends in the market come from abroad, ranging from popular brands like Young Living, Plant Therapy, and Eden’s garden. While they are proved effective by many people in all parts of the globe, they are pricey and could be impractical and unaffordable. Unless you want to use the counterfeit or low grade ones, exposing yourself to some harmful effects, you don’t have any choice but buy from these brands.

Thankfully, Pili Beauty and Wellness made a big leap in making high-grade essential oils pegged at a reasonable price.

The 6-ml Rise and Shine roller bottle I bought retails for Php 240.00, exclusive of the meager Php 70.00 delivery fee. For all the wonderful benefits that I am getting from it, as well as the volume or quantity of the essential oil its roller bottle has, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

Meanwhile, Pili Beauty and Wellness’ Essential Oils Set retails for Php 1,250.00 for its 6-ml travel kit and Php 1,750.00 for it’s 10-ml set, exclusive of delivery or shipping fee nationwide.

How long did this essential oil reach my doorsteps?

In no time!

I ordered Rise and Shine on 21 March 2019, at about 2:00 AM or so, and got the product within twenty four (24) hours (Or even less than, I think!).

By Philippine set-up, this is pretty fast, as some orders take two to three days to be processed and delivered.

So, is it a “YAY” or a “NAY”?

It is a YAY, obviously.

For one, I love how economical it is given my almost daily use or application. “A little goes a long way” with this essential oil.

I got it on the 22nd of March and started using it on that day. I used it incessantly since then, and more often during my midterm exam week. Then, I’d use it whenever I get nauseous or have migraine attacks.

So far, I still have an ample amount with me, which I think would be enough to carry me through in two months or so.

So far, I still have 3/4 of the 6 ml volume.

With all the pleasant experiences and benefits I am getting from Pili Beauty and Wellness’ Rise and Shine Essential Oil, I am now contemplating of buying their 6-ml set as soon as I finish this one. I’d like to try whether this brand’s other blends are as effective.

I thank you for reading this post/review. Making reviews is really not my thing and will never be the object of this blog, UNLESS, to the best of my knowledge, experience, and discretion, a certain product I’m using might be beneficial to my readers. So, instead of keeping something useful a secret, I’d rather share it.

As they say, sharing is caring.

Feel free to share this with your friends and loved ones who may be thinking of buying or might benefit from Pili’s essential oils.

Until then, have a great weekend ahead of you.

God speed!

xoxo,

Tina
