Maybelline’s first ever Lip and Cheek Tint!
A versatile product that adds a flush of color to your lips and cheeks with a soft, matte finish. With a non-sticky, non-drying formula, it is easy to blend and provides a high color payoff.
Achieve that lightweight and intense look in 10 different shades.
I am a working law student and I am always looking for reliable make-up products that stay true to their claims, are good for my oily, acne-prone, and sensitive skin, and will not necessarily break the bank. Most importantly, they must be hassle-free or easy to use and apply.
It seems that Maybelline Sensational Liquid Matte Lip and Cheek Tint has all these criteria I’m looking for. So, to be sure, I gotta try it.
This is the reason that made me accept another review stint from the Try and Review site. (You may recall in my previous post that I also did my [first] review of the L’oreal Pro-matte foundation powder.) Coincidentally, Maybelline’s matte tint is up for review this month. It’s a rare opportunity I definitely wouldn’t miss.
I got this tint in the Soft Wine Color. As someone who has a green undertone, this is one of the shades that can definitely complement my skin.
So what do I think about this tint? I thought I’d break down my insights to several points which mattered to me the most in reviewing this product. But first let me take a selfie (LOL).

My thoughts…
Pigmentation
Maybelline’s Sensational Liquid Matte Lip and Cheek Tint is quite pigmented. Hence, I don’t have to apply a lot just to achieve a strong shade. With even just a scant amount of this product, my lips were emphasized and my make up was jazzed up.
Caution though: Since it is highly pigmented, always be careful in applying the product on your cheeks. Good thing, I used common sense and started applying just a tinny tad bit of it on the apple of my cheeks. Otherwise, I would have ended up looking like a battered clown!
It’s nice to just build up the color than to apply a large amount of it.
Longevity
The product is also quite long-lasting. I tested it for 7 hours and so. Within this period, I ate fatty/greasy food, drank water, coffee, and ate other snacks. Despite the minimal transfers, the tint stayed on my lips and remained pigmented.
Application
Also, I like the applicator that the product came with. It is just the right size and is easy to use in applying the product on my lip and cheeks. I didn’t have to use a pencil liner to make my lips pucker perfect, which I always thought is time-consuming.
Non-drying and non-tacky on the lips
It wasn’t sticky and drying at all. It is so lightweight and keeps moisture on my lips locked in. Actually, it feels like I am not really wearing a liquid lippie at all.
Matte effect claim
Since my skin is the oily type, I actually kind of expected that it won’t be “matte” per se on my cheeks. However, I like how it blended pretty well on my skin, knowing that I am also acidic. Wearing it for 7 hours gave me a fresh blushed look the entire time.
After 7 hours of wear, here I am:

Overall, this matte tint is a great product. It may not be entirely matte, especially for those who have super oily skin like me, but it is definitely enough to give me that clean, fresh, yet professional look that any on-the-go working lady would want to have.
I highly recommend this product.
With its ease of application and long-lasting effect, it is, indeed, a must-have for working gals like me.
xoxo,
Tina

Good thing Superstay worked well for you.
I like its color, I like how it stayed, but it dried my lips. 😦

Uh oh, I am so sorry to hear that. Perhaps, that’s how cosmetic products go. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn’t. I just got lucky on this one.
