“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful”
I find 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 too overboard and mushy until I met Jumel.
Blame the [my favorite] movie, “A Walk to Remember” for romanticizing this. If you watched the movie, you may recall that Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore) asked Landon Carter (Shane Wedt) to read these Bible verses while she was in her hospital bed. Jamie’s leukemia relapsed and she was confined therein in one of her painful episodes.
(Whew! Who’s chopping onions?)
But when the Lord gave me the patient, sincere, loving, and sacrificial love, I realized I was wrong all along.
Jumel will never be the perfect man (or human) as there’s no such thing, but he sure is the realization of the Word of God in my life. And mind you, this is #REALTALK.
People have no idea how hard it was for him to lead me back to the path of the Lord through his love, faith, and hard work. Even telling and showing him that I love him so much will never be enough.
Today, let us thank the Lord for blessing our lives with loving and caring people so He can make us feel even just a fraction of the perfect and unconditional love He has for all of us.
If you think you still haven’t found love yet, I pray that you may have the discernment to recognize, through your family, friends, or loved one God’s affection for you.
May have a blessed weekend ahead!
